Why are the limits tighter than in the apps?
The platforms’ own apps often allow more than the APIs through which programs like companycore publish. What counts is what the API accepts:
| Feature | In the platform’s app | Via the API | In companycore |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram: media in a carousel | up to 20 | up to 10 | up to 10 |
| Instagram: portrait feed image | up to 3:4 | 4:5 to 1.91:1 | 4:5 to 1.91:1, beyond that with a border |
| Instagram: Reel length | recording and editing up to 20 minutes | 3 seconds to 15 minutes | 3 seconds to 3 minutes |
| Facebook: Reel length | no length limit since June 2025 | 3 to 90 seconds | 3 to 90 seconds |
| TikTok: video length | upload up to 60 minutes | up to 10 minutes, less depending on the account | 3 seconds to 3 minutes |
Sources: Instagram Help Center (“Share a post with multiple photos or videos”, “Photo resolution”, “Record a reel”), Meta for Developers (IG User Media Reference, Reels Publishing), Meta Newsroom of June 17, 2025, TikTok Support (“Camera tools”) and TikTok for Developers (Media Transfer Guide), all retrieved October 13, 2026. Platforms change their APIs from time to time, which is why every number here comes with a date.
