Connect TikTok to companycore
TikTok is being enabled step by step in companycore. If it is available to you, you connect your account in Backstage and fill in a few mandatory details when scheduling, as TikTok requires.
Is TikTok enabled for you?
Step-by-step rollout
The TikTok card only appears in Backstage if TikTok is enabled for you. If you don’t see one, it isn’t available yet. The message can also appear when connecting: “TikTok isn’t enabled for your organization yet.” In that case, contact jan@companycore.ai.
Even once TikTok is enabled for you, companycore only publishes privately as long as TikTok’s approval is pending. The app puts it like this: “Until TikTok or Google approves the app, posts are only visible privately.” In the editor it says: “Until the TikTok audit only ‘Only me’ is available.” This is a requirement from TikTok for integrations that aren’t approved yet (TikTok for Developers, Content Sharing Guidelines, retrieved October 13, 2026).
What this means for you: visibility Only me, no Branded content, and no public link to the post. You can only expect public reach on TikTok through companycore once TikTok has granted approval.
Your TikTok account must be set to private
As long as approval is pending, your TikTok account itself has to be set to private. Otherwise publishing fails with the message: “Until TikTok has approved companycore, the TikTok account itself must be private (TikTok app → Settings → Privacy → Private account) — then reschedule.” The pre-check already warns you before the date if the account is still public.
How to connect TikTok
You need the permission to connect accounts and an active plan. Who may do that is explained in Connect your first social media channel.
- Open Backstage. In the sidebar, click Backstage and then Connections.
- Click Connect TikTok. The whole page switches to the TikTok login, and no popup opens. Finish the process in the same browser.
- Sign in to TikTok. Sign in with the account you want to publish on and confirm the permissions that are requested.
- Check in Backstage. The card shows Connected.
- Set the account to private. As long as approval is pending, you set your account to private in the TikTok app: “Settings → Privacy → Private account”.
The card says: “The connection lasts 1 year — after that you’ll need to reconnect TikTok.”
The mandatory details when scheduling
TikTok requires third-party tools to have users choose the details below deliberately (TikTok for Developers, Content Sharing Guidelines). They are in the editor in the block for TikTok. As long as something is missing, Schedule publication stays locked. If you switch on TikTok in addition to another channel, companycore takes over text and media, but never the TikTok settings. You make those yourself every time.
| Detail | What you have to do |
|---|---|
| Will be posted as … | Shows the name of your TikTok account. Check that it is the right one. |
| Visibility | Mandatory, no preselection. Depending on your account, the choices are Everyone, Mutual follow friends, Followers and Only me. As long as approval is pending, only Only me works. Without a choice, this appears: “Choose a visibility before this can be scheduled.” |
| Allow comments, Allow Duet, Allow Stitch | Off by default. If a function is turned off in your TikTok account, it says: “turned off in your TikTok account”. |
| Disclose commercial content | A switch. If you switch it on, you choose Your brand (labeled as Promotional content), Branded content (labeled as Paid partnership) or both. Branded content can’t be Only me and only works after TikTok’s approval. More: Labeling ads. |
| Created or edited with AI | TikTok requires labeling AI content with realistic-looking scenes or people (TikTok Community Guidelines, retrieved October 13, 2026). companycore presets the switch when a file is AI-generated. Check it anyway. More: AI labeling in companycore. |
| Checkbox for the Music Usage Confirmation | Mandatory. By posting, you agree to TikTok’s Music Usage Confirmation, and for branded content also to the Branded Content Policy. companycore doesn’t add music. You are responsible for the music in your video: Music in Reels and TikToks. |
| Title (max 90 characters) | Only for the Photo post. |
Which formats are there?
| Format | Media | Special notes |
|---|---|---|
| Video | 1 vertical video, 3 seconds to 3 minutes, at least 360 px per side | Frame rate 23 to 60 fps. Only a still frame from the video works as a cover image. Text up to 2,200 characters. |
| Photo post | 1 to 35 images | With Title (max 90 characters). Text up to 2,200 characters. |
The 3-minute limit applies to all videos in companycore. Depending on the account, TikTok allows 3, 5 or 10 minutes (TikTok for Developers, Media Transfer Guide, retrieved October 13, 2026). With 3 minutes, you’re on the safe side for every account. All formats at a glance: Formats by platform.
What happens after scheduling
- Processing: At the scheduled time, companycore sends the video to TikTok. Then TikTok processes it. The editor says: “After posting, it may take a few minutes for your content to process and be visible on your profile.” Until then, the calendar shows Publishing, which can take minutes to hours.
- Posted privately: Such posts have no public link. The receipt says: “Posted privately – TikTok doesn’t provide a public link for this.”
- Daily limit: About 15 posts per 24 hours apply per TikTok account, added up across all tools you post with (TikTok for Developers, Content Sharing Guidelines). If the limit is reached, companycore waits and tries again at the next possible time.
Problems and solutions
| Message | What helps |
|---|---|
| “Until TikTok has approved companycore, the TikTok account itself must be private …” | In the TikTok app, set the account to private and schedule again. |
| “Daily limit of this TikTok account reached (about 15 posts per 24 hours) — retrying tomorrow at the same time.” | You don’t need to do anything. companycore tries again automatically. |
| “This TikTok account isn’t allowed to post right now (restricted by TikTok) – please check the TikTok app.” | The restriction comes from TikTok. Sort it out in the TikTok app. |
| “TikTok connection needs to be renewed – please reconnect it under Connections.” | In Backstage under Connections, click Connect TikTok again. |
| “Couldn’t load TikTok account data — reopen the TikTok tab before scheduling.” | Reopen the TikTok tab in the editor before you schedule. If that doesn’t work, reload the page. |
| “The chosen visibility is not available for this TikTok account …” | Choose a different visibility. Which ones are possible depends on your TikTok account. |
| “TikTok rejects the frame rate (23–60 fps required) …” | Export the video at a frame rate between 23 and 60 fps and upload it again. |

Frequently asked questions
Why is my TikTok visible only to me?
As long as TikTok’s approval is pending, companycore only publishes with Only me, which is what TikTok requires for integrations that haven’t been approved yet. You can only make a post public yourself in the TikTok app (account public, post set to “Everyone”, according to TikTok for Developers, retrieved October 13, 2026). If you set the account to public, publishing through companycore fails as long as approval is pending.
Can I schedule TikTok videos longer than 3 minutes?
No. companycore takes videos from 3 seconds to 3 minutes, even if TikTok allows more depending on the account.
Can I post photos on TikTok?
Yes, as a Photo post with 1 to 35 images and a title of up to 90 characters.
Can I add music to a video in companycore?
No. companycore doesn’t add music and doesn’t cut videos. You upload a finished video and confirm the Music Usage Confirmation when scheduling.
When will TikTok be available to me?
TikTok is being enabled step by step. We don’t give a fixed date. Ask jan@companycore.ai whether your access is next in line.
