Set up your brand: website, logo and material
The more real material companycore gets, the more accurately the CI analysis captures your colors, fonts and tone. Collect everything before the analysis, because during the trial you get exactly one analysis run.
Time needed: about 15 minutes with your material ready. You need: your website address, your logo and, if you have them, a CI manual or a text about your offering, plus 4 to 6 sample images.
What awaits you in Backstage?
After you start the trial, you land in Backstage. The first time, a short tour with three slides runs: “Brand created”, “How your journey works” (with the stages Set up, Analyze, Create and Publish) and “Your first steps”. Start setup ends the tour, and so does Skip.
After that, the “Brand setup” card guides you at the top with a progress bar (“Step 1 of 5”, “Step 2 of 5” and so on). Its five items match this course:
| Item on the card | Where you do it | In the course |
|---|---|---|
| Company & website | Backstage › Company | on this page |
| Collect material | Backstage › CI Overview | on this page |
| Set goals & sound | Backstage › Text Settings | on this page |
| Run the CI analysis | Backstage › CI Overview | Step 5 |
| Get ready to publish | Backstage › Connections | Step 6 |
Under “Optional extras” you’ll also find Your own model, Wardrobe and Products & environments. You don’t need them for your first post. More in Step 9.
Which sources does the analysis use?
| Source | Required? | What companycore uses it for |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Yes | Required source. The analysis reads facts, fonts and language from it. |
| Logo | No, but strongly recommended | The analysis takes the brand colors from the logo first. |
| Company content (PDF or text) | No, but recommended | Who you are, what you offer, how you speak. Topic suggestions for the Post Generator also come from it. |
| Reference images | No | The Visual Designer learns your image style from them. With fewer than 4 images, no style analysis runs. |
| Goals and tone (Text Settings) | The onboarding prefills them | They feed straight into the analysis. |
How do you enter your website and brand name?
- Open Company. Go to Backstage › Company. At the top it says “These details apply to the currently selected brand.”
- Check the brand name. The onboarding filled the Brand name field with your company name. The name later appears in posts and in the analysis.
- Enter your company website. In the Company website field, enter a real domain, for example yourcompany.com. The app rejects free text: “Please enter a valid domain (e.g. yourcompany.com).”
- Click Save. Save doesn’t start an analysis yet. You start that deliberately in Step 5.
The website is the only required source. Without it, the button to start the analysis stays locked.
Which documents do you upload?
Open Backstage › CI Overview. Before the first analysis, the header “No corporate identity yet?” walks you through five steps: Website & company, Upload your CI & documents, Upload your logo, Collect reference images and Start the analysis. You do the first four now.
At “Upload your CI & documents”, the app says: “Most important first: if you know your CI (colours as hex codes, fonts) or have a CI manual as a PDF — provide it here. Explicit values from you ALWAYS win over anything we derive from website and logo.” You upload a CI manual as a PDF in this section. You can correct colors and fonts directly in the CI Overview after the analysis, see Step 5.
Company content
The Company content section carries the badge “Recommended”. Upload a PDF or paste text, for example your About page, your services or a whitepaper.
- Upload a PDF. Click the “PDF · up to 20 MB” field or drag the file onto it. If it’s too large, the app says “PDF too large (max 20 MB).”
- Or paste text. Paste it into the “Paste company text here (about, services, …)” field. It needs at least 30 characters. You can dictate with the microphone; the button only appears in browsers with speech recognition. No PDF at hand? The app advises: “Just tell us who you are, what you offer and for whom.”
- Click Save text. The app confirms with “Company content saved. … topic suggestions created.”, with the number of suggestions in place of the dots.
The topic suggestions appear as Post ideas on Home and in the Post Generator. The content also feeds into the CI analysis. That helps most if your website doesn’t make clear who you are.
Why does the logo come before the analysis?
The analysis reads the brand colors straight from the logo. So upload it before you start. You can add it later at any time. PNG, SVG, WebP and JPEG are allowed. You maintain the four logo slots Full · Dark, Full · Light, Icon · Dark and Icon · Light in the CI Overview after the analysis.
Which reference images help?
The analysis learns the image style from reference images, meaning posts and photos whose look you like. The app says: “Upload 4 to 6 sample posts: the Visual Designer learns your style from them.” You can upload up to 10. The counter in the drop area “Drop reference images here or click” starts at “0 / 10”. Choose images that go together, because the style is derived from them. If you’ve uploaded fewer than 4, the app says “Upload at least 4 reference images so the style analysis can start.”
What do you set in the Text Settings?
- Open Text Settings. Go to Backstage › Text Settings.
- Check goals and tone. Post goals and Tone / style of posts show what you chose in the onboarding. Put it in your own words. For a hair salon, that could look like this: “more new clients for cuts and color” and “warm, direct, with a wink”.
- Set post language and length. Post language is a free-text field, and the default is German. Under Post length, you choose Short (~50 words), Medium (~90 words) or Long (~150 words). Medium is preset.
- Click Save. The app confirms with “Saved ✓”.
The Post Generator can override these presets for each post. More in Text settings.
Is everything in place?
- Your website is entered and saved.
- Your logo is uploaded.
- A piece of company content is saved, as a PDF or as text.
- At least 4 reference images are uploaded.
- Goals and tone are checked and saved.
You can also start earlier
The website is enough for the analysis. The app itself says: “You can analyse right away — but with more material the result gets significantly better.” Because you only get one run during the trial, waiting for the checklist is worth it.
Result
All the sources for the CI analysis are in Backstage. The only thing left is to start the analysis, which you do in the next step.
